The
Divine Comedy (Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso) is known
as the greatest Christian story ever told after The Gospel.
Master Films Productions presents two films by Dino Di Durante - Dante's
Inferno Documented and Abandon All Hope. Both films are unique
and a breakthrough about Inferno, the first
part of the The
Divine Comedy masterpiece, written by Dante Alighieri
during his exile from Florence, in Italy during 1309-1310. Dante's
Inferno Documented and Abandon All Hope are not only a tribute to Dante Alighieri,
the best Italian poet of all time, but also to Gustave Dore,
the best French illustrator of all time.
Dante's
Inferno Documented
is a 2-hour feature film, while Abandon All Hope is a 25-minute short film exclusively in black and white. The story is the same, the one of a man that went on a journey through
the worst of the afterlife, Inferno, to finally consumate his love relationship at the gate of Paradise (sequel).
Dante's
Inferno Documented is a compelling four-quadrant
film presented as
a visual and narrative journey to Hell told by over 25 scholars
and artists from both Italy and the United States. The Infernal story is presented circle by circle in an
unprecedented and unique way that no other documentary has done
up until now. Visually, it features over 50 black
and white illustrations by Gustave Dore, over 50 original
color illustrations from the upcoming Dante's Inferno
comic book and magazine
series and a few dramatic animations from the upcoming animation
short film.
The main
purpose of this documentary is to present Dante's story in an
easy and understandable way to encourage people to read The
Divine Comedy book.
Dante's Inferno Documented, now in its final stages of post-production,
started filming in Italy (Rome, Florence and Bellagio) in February,
2008 and continued in Los Angeles, United States in March, August, December 2008, January
and February2009 (including its narration) and will finish additional filming in January of 2010.
Dante's Inferno Documented is expected to premiere in Europe and North America in 2010 at major film festivals, soon to be announced.
